2023 Annual National Conference on Citizenship

The Institute for Citizens & Scholars team attended the 2023 Annual National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC) on Thursday, November 30, 2023, in Washington, D.C. Leaders in the civic field and beyond worked together in-person to explore ways to strengthen our democracy and discuss technology’s role in the future of citizenship in America. Several of our staff members spoke on panels and hosted a measurement workshop to help peers apply the framework of our Mapping Civic Measurement report. Here’s a snapshot of our involvement:

• Raj Vinnakota, President, shared his thoughts on the “The Future of Civic Learning” panel
• Jessica Sutter, Chief of Learning Initiatives, leveraged our national survey on the “Using Data to Measure Civic Health and Impacts” panel
• Debi Ghate, Executive Fellow, and Anna Gallos, Program Associate, led the interactive session “How Should We Define and Measure Civic Health, Readiness, and Opportunity at the Local Level.”
